Thankful!

I love what Crazy Aunt Purl has to say about Thanksgiving:
"I know this has been a trying time for so many people . . . but it's the blessings we don't buy that carry us over, like good friends and . . . the love you have inside you, even if sometimes it comes out off-key and you forget the words."
At this zero dark early time of day, I'm thankful for bloggers like the Purl; I'm thankful that Near Perfect Husband and Tiny Ninja are snugged up in their beds, getting some good rest; I'm thankful that Danger Haley and The W will be with us soon; and I'm thankful for being three gifts short of completely done with Christmas shopping.
Most importantly, I'm thankful for the saving grace of Jesus, that He called me and mine to be His, and I'm thankful for His Word that brings life to all who will hear and heed.
The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. Job 1:21
In every thing give Thanks: for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28

Hey Deb,
I am responding to your post on my blog. I can give you the general way I do the spiral hats.

I work ribbing across 7 stitches first in back loop and then front loops until it gets the length I want then slipstitch the ends together.

Then I work sc in the end of each row around...

Then working in rounds (without joining) and in back loops I start the next rnd with a sl st, then a sc, then a hdc, then a dc....then continue in dc for the rest of the hat...(ALWAYS back loops)

to make a longer hat I just decrease once every round, for shorter hats I decrease more often.

When it is finished you should have the free loop from the stitches winding up in a spiral..I work a single crochet in each free looop.

The tassle on the blue one was ribbon yarn.

HTH!
love, deBBie
